Meet Trisha Neville
Nova Scotia College of Art and Design Alumni
I have worked as a commercial goldsmith and jewellery designer across Canada, which took me from Wolfville, Nova Scotia to Fort McMurray, Alberta.
I was working for a few years as a fulltime goldsmith and designer at a high end luxury jewellery store on Main Street. The opportunity came through Women Building Futures in the Trades to learn how to drive a 980 Komatsu haul truck. A co-op through Suncor Fort Hills Mine 90km North of the city. After completing the training I was offered a job with 15 other ladies.
I worked there for 6 years learning mine operations and was trained on various rigid frame haul trucks, support equipment and excavators. I enjoyed my time with the people and northern landscape was breathtaking from an artistic standpoint.
Today I work as a freelance bench jeweler, a visual artist, workshop facilitator, market vendor and small business owner.
